2009 Championship Stats: Congratulations to Driver, Owner, and Crew Members

High Point, NC - October 17, 2009 - Hedgecock Racing would like to congratulate their championship winning drivers, owners, and crew members for a great 2009 racing season. Once again Philip Morris won the prestigious National Championship title for the 2nd year in a row. In route to his championship season Philip recorded 7 wins, 3 second place, and 3 third place finishes totaling 13 top five placements in his Hedgecock Racing CC1 chassis. In addition to the National Championship, Philip also won the Virginia State Championship and Motor Mile Speedway Championship. Congratulations to driver and owner Philip Morris, crew chief Billy Adkins, car chief Chad McCoy, and crew members Jeff Coffey, Scott Keys, Pete Brown, Bobby McCoy, Scott Tottie, Darrell Sours, with sponsors Spencer/Brown, Clarence's Steakhouse, Certified Auto Body, Arborlite Tree Services, and Dean Motorsports.

Anthony Barnes racked up his 2nd track championship in a row at Motor Mile Speedway in the limited late model series.  He had 1 win, 4 second place, 3 third place, 1 fourth place, and 2 fifth place finishes totaling 11 top five placements.  Congratulations to Anthony Barnes, owner Tim, Tommy, & Patsy Barnes, crew chief Martin Alderman, and crew members Mike Adams, Alan Alderman, Kyle Barnes, Logan Alderman, Joe Lephew, and Mark Showalter.  

At Myrtle Beach Speedway Brent Brinson collected a season high 10 wins with 6 second place, and 1 fourth place finishes capturing the track championship with 17 top five placements.  Congratulations to Brent Brinson, owners Hoyt & Paulette Brinson and crew members Chris Durant, Aaron Dorman, and Jessica Durant.

Old Dominion Speedway saw Willard Lawrence win the late model championship for the 2nd year in a row.  He won 6 races, had 6 second place, 2 third place, 2 fourth place, and 1 fifth place finishes totaling 17 top five placements.  Congratulations to Willard Lawrence, owner Sam & Karyn Beaty and crew member Michelle Lawrence. 

South Boston Speedway saw Brian Pembleton rise to the top of the field in the limited late model series with 5 wins, 6 second place, 2 third place, 1 fourth place and 1 fifth place finishes in route to his first championship totaling 15 top five placements.  Congratulations to driver and car owner Brian Pembelton, crew chief Bruce Anderson, and crew members Will Hash, Stanley Pope, Scott Lewis, and Rocky Hash. 

Brent Weaver had a banner year at Caraway Speedway in the limited late model series winning 7 races, finishing with 3 third place, 2 fourth place, and 2 fifth place finishes totaling 14 top five placements.  Congratulations to Brent Weaver, owner Sherry Weaver and crew members Mike Catlet, Randy Perryman, Keith Honeycutt, and Freddie Smith.

We would also like to congratulate and thank all Hedgecock Racing customers for years of outstanding racing and look forward to many more years.  Hedgecock Racing is celebrating over 26 years of racing and with the new 2010 chassis design next year will be a record breaking year for sure.
